The short answer.
Most Nashville homeowners pay between $150 and $450 to solve a mole problem completely. At Ogden Mole Control, we charge $150 per mole caught, with a maximum of 3 moles charged per trapping session for yards under one acre. Setup is free. There are no trip charges. And we keep coming back until every mole is gone.
The typical Nashville yard has 1 to 3 moles. Despite how extensive the damage looks, it's almost always a small number of animals. That means most jobs are done for $150 to $300, and many homeowners don't need us again for months.
Our pricing, fully transparent.
We offer two pricing options. Here's exactly how each one works:
Pay-Per-Mole
This is our most popular option. You pay nothing upfront. We assess your yard, set traps in active tunnels, and come back as many times as needed to clear every mole. You're only charged when we catch one.
If your yard has 4 or 5 moles, you still only pay for 3 per session if the yard is under one acre. We clear them all regardless.
Mole Control Program (monthly)
This program is for homeowners who deal with moles regularly. Properties near parks, wooded areas, greenways, or undeveloped land tend to see new moles move in after the current ones are removed. The monthly program catches that activity early.
The per-mole rate is discounted to $75 (half the standard rate), and we inspect every month whether you've noticed new activity or not. It's especially valuable through winter, when moles breed and multiply out of sight. Cancel anytime. No credit card on file.
What most Nashville homeowners actually pay.
Here's the reality of what a typical mole job looks like:
Many customers end up at the lower end. One mole causing all the damage, caught in the first few days, $150 total. They don't call us again for 6 to 12 months, if ever.
Even at the higher end, $450 for a completely mole-free yard in under two weeks is a fraction of what most people have already spent on grub control, castor oil, and other products that didn't work.
What to watch out for with other companies.
Mole control pricing varies a lot across Nashville. When comparing companies, pay attention to these common gotchas:
- Setup fees or "assessment charges." Some companies charge $75 to $150 just to come look at your yard before any trapping begins. We don't. Our setup is free.
- Trip charges. Some companies charge every time a trapper visits your property to check or reset traps. These add up fast. We don't charge trip fees.
- Per-visit pricing instead of per-mole. Some companies charge a flat rate per visit regardless of whether they catch anything. You could pay for 4 visits and still have moles. With per-mole pricing, you only pay for results.
- Contracts or minimum commitments. Some companies require a multi-month contract or minimum number of visits. We have no contracts on either service. Cancel anytime.
- Bundled pest control packages. General pest control companies sometimes offer mole work as an add-on to a larger package. Mole trapping is a specialized skill, and companies that treat it as a side service often lack the expertise to do it effectively.
- "Guaranteed" mole removal with no specifics. Be cautious of companies that guarantee results but won't explain their pricing structure clearly. If you can't get a straight answer on cost before they start, that's a red flag.
What about DIY? How much does that cost?
If you want to try trapping yourself, expect to spend $20 to $40 per trap. You'll need at least 2 to 3 quality traps (scissor-style or harpoon-style). Total investment: $60 to $120 for the traps.
The cost is lower upfront, but the success rate is significantly lower too. The main challenge is identifying active tunnels and placing traps correctly. If the traps are in the wrong spots, you'll catch nothing while the mole keeps tunneling. Many homeowners try DIY for a few weeks, don't catch anything, and then call a professional.
For comparison: if you spend $80 on traps, another $60 on grub control (which doesn't work), and then hire a professional anyway, you've spent $290 total. If you'd just called us first, you'd likely have paid $150 to $300 and been done in a week.
When the monthly program saves money.
If you've called a mole service more than twice in a year, the monthly program usually costs less overall. Here's the math:
Without the program: Two separate visits per year at $150/mole, catching 2 moles each time = $600/year.
With the program: $75/month ($900/year) + $75 per mole caught. But you're catching moles earlier when there are fewer of them, and the discounted rate means each mole costs half as much. For most recurring properties, the total annual cost is similar or lower, and you never have to deal with widespread damage.
The monthly program also catches winter activity. Moles breed in late winter, and if you're not monitoring the yard from November through February, one mole can become three by spring. The program prevents that.
Not sure which option is right? Just call us. We'll ask about your property, your history with moles, and recommend whichever option honestly makes more sense. No pressure. Request a quote or call (931) 682-6062.
The bottom line on cost.
Mole removal in Nashville typically costs $150 to $450 for a one-time job. The monthly program is $75/month plus $75 per mole for ongoing protection. There are no hidden fees with Ogden Mole Control: no setup charges, no trip fees, no contracts.
